Blind Date

We met the baby yesterday, in a splotchy, black-and-white sort of way. The chattiest technician in the world assured us that everything measurable looks really good, including several new things they have added to the check list since the girls were born.

Just like the last two times, I found myself wishing for more time. I just want to watch all the swimming around the baby does. It's amazing to watch. Baby started out snuggled up on one side, then did a back flip and ended up on the other. It all looked very graceful.

During Maya's ultrasound, she sucked her thumb.

During Elliot's, she moved so much and so quickly the entire event took twice as long just to get the right measurements.

During this baby's time in the spotlight, pip just lazily tumbled around, often making it easier for the technician to get better pictures of all four chambers of the heart, the lobes of the brain, and various major arteries. Still, pip generally snuggled up in one corner or another so much that a full body image was impossible. All we have is a profile, and the growing sense that this baby thing is absolutely real!

That is the best looking 2D ultra sound I have ever seen! You can actually tell it's a baby in there! We are so excited to meet this little one!
