I'm back! Just took a week off to enjoy (?) family for the big Thanksgiving weekend. My girls were great, and I couldn't ask for a better partner, but the in-laws.... oh the in-laws.
Someone she tell young people how important it is to screen these people, since they'll find ways to complicate every holiday and family event for the rest of your life!
No, no, it wasn't that bad. It's just a personality conflict issue. I'm a planner, they aren't. I'm love to hang out and watch movies and enjoy the people around me, and they are constantly doing putzy little things.
The cumulative effect was crazy.
But now, I'm ready to get back into things.
I've got a massive Nano file holding all of my notes regarding changes, additional scenes, and characters that need to be killed off or merged or added.
Tonight or tomorrow I'll start rereading the silly thing and try to shape it into something less.... well, less obviously a training book.
I want a draft two that won't make me cringe!
